Clan of Xymox is a Dutch band formed in 1981 in Nijmegen, Netherlands, known for their blend of darkwave, gothic rock, and synth-pop. Founded by Ronny Moorings, who remains the constant driving force behind the band, Clan of Xymox emerged under the name Xymox before securing a deal with the influential U.K. independent label 4AD. Their self-titled debut album in 1985, featuring the hit "A Day," cemented their status within the gothic and darkwave scenes. Despite numerous lineup changes, Clan of Xymox has consistently released albums and toured globally, captivating audiences with their moody, atmospheric soundscapes and introspective lyrics.
