About

D-A-D is a Danish rock band known for their energetic fusion of rock, hard rock, glam metal, and cowpunk. Formed in Copenhagen in the early 1980s, the group originally consisted of Jesper Binzer (vocals, guitar), Jacob Binzer (lead guitar), Stig Pedersen (bass), and Peter Jensen (drums). After Peter Jensen's departure in 1999, Laust Sonne took over on drums, solidifying the current lineup. Initially named Disneyland After Dark, they quickly became a staple in the Danish rock scene with their catchy riffs and charismatic performances.

How to Sound Like D-A-D

D-A-D's sound is characterized by high-octane, gritty guitar riffs and powerful, anthemic choruses. The guitar work of Jacob Binzer stands out with its blend of vintage and modern tones, often achieved using a combination of Gibson Les Paul guitars and Marshall JCM800 2203 amplifiers. This setup delivers a punchy, dynamic sound that cuts through the mix with clarity and aggression. The rhythmic drive of Stig Pedersen's bass lines provides a robust backbone, while Laust Sonne's energetic drumming adds an explosive edge to their tracks. The band's music thrives on raw energy and bold, melodic hooks, making them a standout act in the rock and metal genres.
