About
DRAMA is a dynamic musical duo that seamlessly fuses elements of electronic, pop, contemporary R&B, indie, and soul to create a distinctive sound. Hailing from Chicago, the group consists of Na’el Shehade (producer) and Via Rosa (vocalist). Shehade brings a sophisticated blend of Chicago house and electronic production, while Rosa infuses her soulful vocals with jazz-inspired improvisation and hip-hop influences. Together, they blur the lines between R&B and dance-pop, crafting songs that explore themes of love, heartbreak, and euphoria. Their collaboration has led to partnerships with artists like Flight Facilities and Gorgon City, adding to their unique musical tapestry.
How to Sound Like DRAMA
DRAMA's sound is characterized by its chic, electronic production and soulful vocal delivery, creating a smooth yet energetic vibe. Shehade’s production often incorporates lush synth textures and rhythmic elements, achieved through tools like the Korg Minilogue XD and the Moog Subsequent 37. These synths provide a warm, analog feel that contrasts beautifully with the digital precision of his beats. Rosa's vocals, rich and emotive, glide over these soundscapes, adding depth and intimacy to the tracks. The use of the Arturia MiniLab MK II Black Edition allows for intricate melodic lines and harmonic complexity, enhancing their indie soul aesthetic. This combination of elements gives DRAMA a sound that is both modern and timeless, appealing to a wide range of listeners.
