About

Guerilla Toss is an electrifying fusion of electroclash, post-punk, dance-punk, noise rock, and neo-psychedelia, hailing from the vibrant Boston DIY scene. Formed in 2012, the group has since relocated to New York, continuing to captivate audiences with their unhinged and experimental sound. The current lineup features Kassie Carlson (vocals), Peter Negroponte (drums), and Arian Shafiee (guitar), among others who contribute to their unique sound. Known for their high-energy performances and genre-blending compositions, Guerilla Toss has carved out a niche in the art pop and no wave music landscapes, drawing inspiration from icons like Sonic Youth and Brian Eno.

How to Sound Like Guerilla Toss

Guerilla Toss's sound is characterized by chaotic yet precise rhythms and jagged, angular guitar riffs, creating an intense and danceable sonic experience. Their music thrives on disorienting time signatures and unexpected shifts, often achieved through the use of modular synthesizers and experimental electronic effects. The vocals are raw and commanding, cutting through the dense mix with a visceral intensity. To capture their sound, musicians might employ distorted, overdriven guitars, complemented by dynamic, syncopated drumming that propels the music forward. Analog delay and modulation effects can add the psychedelic edge that defines their style, while a focus on tight, groove-laden bass lines ensures the danceability that is central to their music.
