About

Holy Fawn is an American experimental music group that seamlessly blends elements of post-hardcore, post-rock, ambient, shoegaze, and indie. Emerging from Phoenix, Arizona, the band consists of Ryan Osterman (vocals, guitar), Evan Phelps (guitar), Alex Russey (bass), and Austin Reinholz (drums). Known for their ability to create a dynamic range of sounds that transition from serene to intense, Holy Fawn crafts immersive sonic landscapes that captivate listeners with their emotional depth and atmospheric resonance.

How to Sound Like Holy Fawn

Holy Fawn's sound is characterized by its dense, textural layers and dynamic contrasts, moving fluidly between ethereal ambient passages and powerful crescendos. The guitar work features a rich tapestry of effects, including the EarthQuaker Devices Cloven Hoof for fuzz and the Boss BF-2 Flanger for swirling modulation, adding depth and complexity to their arrangements. The use of reverb and delay, such as the Strymon Flint, creates a spacious soundscape that envelops the listener. The rhythm section balances the ethereal and the aggressive, with Alex Russey's bass lines providing a grounding presence while Austin Reinholz's drums add both subtlety and explosive energy. This intricate layering and dynamic interplay are key to achieving the hauntingly beautiful and intense sound that defines Holy Fawn.
