Instant Funk is a dynamic American band renowned for their infectious blend of disco, funk, and Philly soul. Originating from Trenton, New Jersey, the group was initially formed by Raymond Earl (bass), Scotty Miller (drums), and Kim Miller (guitar). Over time, Instant Funk expanded to include talents like keyboardist Dennis Richardson, lead singer James Carmichael, and a brass section featuring Larry Davis, Eric Huff, and Johnny Onderlinde, along with percussionist Charles Williams. Their high-energy sound captured the essence of the late '70s disco era, and they are best remembered for the hit "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)" from their gold-certified album Instant Funk.
