Kleeer was a New York-based funk band renowned for their groove-infused disco and post-disco soul sound. Founded by drummer, arranger, songwriter, and vocalist Woody Cunningham, the group also included Paul Crutchfield (vocals, percussion), Norman Durham (bass), and Richard Lee (guitar). Originating in the early 1970s as a support act for the Choice Four, the band underwent several transformations before emerging as Kleeer in 1979. Their music is characterized by infectious rhythms and a dancefloor emphasis, with a rich blend of funk, disco, and quiet storm genres.
