About

Outrun the Sunlight is a Chicago-based instrumental rock band known for their dynamic blend of progressive metal, post-rock, and math rock. Formed in 2011 by guitarist Austin Peters and former guitarist Cody McCarty, the band set out to create music that filled the gaps they felt within the existing metal landscape. Today, the lineup includes Austin Peters (guitar), Phil Kalas (bass), Luke Angle (drums), Konstantine “Ken” Stebliy (guitar), and Kyle Kunkler (synths). Their music is an ever-evolving exploration of sound, heavily influenced by late 2000s post-hardcore and metal, with an ethos of continuous innovation.
