Sadistic Mika Band is a pioneering Japanese rock group that emerged in the early 1970s, known for blending elements of pop rock, jazz fusion, and Japanese prog. Originating in Tokyo, the band was initially formed by guitarist Kazuhiko Kato and his wife Mika Fukui (vocals). The lineup later expanded to include Masayoshi Takanaka (guitar), Yukihiro Takahashi (drums), Tsugutoshi Gotō (bass), and Yu Imai (keyboards). Their innovative sound and eclectic style have made them a standout in the city pop and Shibuya-kei scenes, influencing future generations of musicians.
