SONOIO is an alternative electronic project helmed by Italian musician and songwriter Alessandro Cortini, known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and How to Destroy Angels. The name SONOIO derives from the Italian phrase "sono io," meaning "it's me," reflecting the personal nature of the project. Originating in 2010, SONOIO explores a blend of indietronica, electropop, and industrial genres, delivering a distinctive sound through albums like Red and Fine. Cortini's work under SONOIO is characterized by his use of the Buchla modular synthesizer and features collaborations with artists such as Telefon Tel Aviv and Ladytron.
