About
Straight Line Stitch is a metal band hailing from Knoxville, Tennessee, known for their dynamic fusion of nu metal and melodic metalcore. The group formed at the turn of the 21st century but considers its true inception in 2003 with the addition of powerhouse vocalist Alexis Brown. The lineup solidified with Pat Pattison and Seth Thacker on guitars, Jason White on bass, and Patrick Haynes on drums. Their music is characterized by a balance of aggressive riffs, melodic interludes, and emotionally charged vocals, which have made them a staple in the metal community.
How to Sound Like Straight Line Stitch
Straight Line Stitch's sound is a fierce blend of aggressive and melodic elements, creating a visceral yet intricate auditory experience. The guitars often shift between crushing, distorted riffs and more melodic, harmonious passages, a duality that can be achieved with a combination of Marshall Plexi 1959SLP amplifiers for a classic, powerful tone and Gibson Les Paul Special guitars for their rich, full-bodied sound. The band's rhythm section further complements this dynamic with tight, pounding bass lines and driving, precise drumming, bringing both power and finesse to their tracks. Alexis Brown's vocal delivery is both commanding and versatile, seamlessly transitioning from intense growls to soaring melodic lines, adding depth and emotional intensity to the band's sound.
