Supergroove is a dynamic New Zealand band known for their energetic fusion of funk rock, classic NZ pop, kiwi rock, and NZ reggae. Emerging from the earlier ensemble Low Down Dirty Blues Band, Supergroove was officially formed in 1993. The core lineup included Karl Steven (vocals, harmonica), Joe Lonie (bass), Tim Stewart (guitar, vocals), Che Fu (vocals, rapper), Nick Atkinson (saxophone, later keyboards), and Ben Sciascia (guitar). The group’s debut album Traction launched them into the spotlight with its eclectic blend of blues, funk, soul, and metal, achieving significant commercial success in New Zealand.
