The Angelic Process was a pioneering American musical group known for their unique blend of drone metal, doom metal, and shoegaze, often referred to as "doomgaze." Formed in Georgia in 1999, the band consisted of Kris Angylus (vocals, guitar, drums) and MDragynfly (bass, effects). Their music was characterized by a dense, immersive wall of sound that combined ethereal vocals with complex melodies and shifting time structures. Over an eight-year span, The Angelic Process released three studio albums and two EPs, leaving a lasting impact on the ambient drone metal scene. The group's innovative approach and captivating live performances earned them a dedicated following, even as their journey was tragically cut short by Angylus's passing in 2008.

The Angelic Process crafted their sound around thick, droning guitar layers and the ethereal interplay of noise and melody. The sonic landscape they created was both aggressive and ambient, defined by a heavy, resonant guitar tone that enveloped listeners in a warm, immersive soundscape. To achieve this, Kris Angylus favored the use of a Peavey 5150 120-Watt Head paired with a Peavey 5150 4x12 Speaker Cabinet, delivering the powerful, saturated tones that underpin their music. The Line 6 Pod X3 used by MDragynfly added layers of ambient effects, contributing to the complex, evolving textures that define their songs. This combination of gear and technique allowed The Angelic Process to craft a sound that was both hauntingly beautiful and crushingly intense, creating an emotional resonance that remains influential to this day.
