About
The WAEVE is an innovative British musical duo formed by Graham Coxon, best known as the guitarist for Blur, and Rose Elinor Dougall, formerly of The Pipettes. Together, they weave a rich tapestry of cinematic British folk-rock, post-punk, and organic songwriting, characterized by their shared vocals and multi-instrumental talents. Their genre-blending sound is rooted in a mix of guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, and saxophone, creating a dynamic and evolving musical landscape.
How to Sound Like The WAEVE
The WAEVE's sound is a captivating fusion of raw and textured guitar tones intertwined with lush, atmospheric synths. Graham Coxon's use of guitars such as the Squier Telecaster and the Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Deluxe, combined with the gritty edge from his Pro Co RAT 2 distortion pedal, delivers a compelling blend of aggression and melody. Rose Elinor Dougall's Nord Stage 3 HA88 synthesizer complements this with its vibrant, expansive soundscapes that add depth and color. Together, their music is a balance of organic and experimental, driven by a synergy that is both bold and introspective.
