Originating from Eastbourne, England, the group was formed in 1997 and consists of Joseph Washbourne (vocals, keyboards), Dan Hipgrave (guitar), Julian Deane (guitar), Matt Knight (bass), and Rob Green (drums). Drawing inspiration from '70s rock and soul, Toploader's music channels the spirit of bands like The Faces and The Rolling Stones, fused with the melodic sensibilities of Elton John.
