UnSun Members, Gear & Sound

UnSun is a Polish gothic metal band that seamlessly blends symphonic elements with melodic gothic rock. The group was founded in 2006 by guitarist Mauser (Maurycy Stefanowicz), a former member of the thrash band Vader, and is fronted by the ethereal vocals of Aya (Anna Stefanowicz). The original lineup was completed with Heinrich (Filip Halucha) on bass and Vaaver (Wawrzyniec Dramowicz) on drums. UnSun is known for its atmospheric soundscapes and the haunting interplay between soaring vocals and intricate guitar work, as showcased in their albums The End of Life and Clinic for Dolls.

UnSun's music thrives on a lush, expansive sound characterized by its dark, melodic guitar riffs and gothic, symphonic textures. The use of EMG 81 pickups in Mauser’s guitars offers a crisp, clear tone that cuts through the dense mix, enhancing the band's dynamic range. The Randall RM100 100W Modular Amp Head provides a powerful, versatile foundation for the band’s heavy yet melodic approach. Aya's vocal delivery adds a siren-like quality to their tracks, blending seamlessly with the ambient synth layers and orchestral elements that define their sound. The rhythmic foundation often leans on the haunting, resonant bass lines from the Spector Rex Brown Signature 5-String Bass, which provide depth and drive to their compositions.
