About

Vower is a British progressive metal group that brings together a wealth of experience and creativity from seasoned musicians Rabea Massaad (Toska, The Totemist), Josh Mckeown (Palm Reader), Rory McLean, Joe Gosney, and Liam Kearley (both formerly of Black Peaks). Their collective background in various bands has forged a unique musical chemistry that allows Vower to explore the vast landscapes of heavy music. The band seamlessly blends elements of post-rock's atmospheric textures, the intricate structures of progressive metal, and the raw vigor of post-hardcore, resulting in music that is as expansive as it is intense. Vower's approach is about pushing boundaries and diving into uncharted territories, making each composition a dynamic and powerful journey.

How to Sound Like Vower

Vower's sonic character is an intricate tapestry of expansive and atmospheric soundscapes underpinned by crunchy, aggressive riffs and soaring melodic elements. The band's sound is both immersive and dynamic, often shifting from delicate, haunting passages to explosive crescendos. To achieve this, Rabea Massaad employs a variety of guitars, including the Chapman ML3 Bea Pro Signature Carthus Burst and the Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster, which provide the tonal versatility needed for their diverse compositions. Overdrive pedals like the Mesa/Boogie Flux-Drive help drive the heavier sections with a rich, saturated tone, while the use of delay and reverb effects crafts the ethereal layers that define their sound. Vower's music is a testament to the power of experimentation and the joy of creating without limits.
