Great EQ Pedal

I’m a weekend warrior guitar and bass player and got this pedal because Aiden from the Happy Bluesman told me I needed an EQ pedal for a great blues tone. Being a fan of unique and vintage gear, this popped up and I grabbed it. It does what it says on the box which is cut and boost certain frequencies very well. But reading the manual online, it lets you create whole different sounds from your guitar. For example, you can make your Strat sound like a 335 hollow body or even a Gretsch style guitar. I use it for electric guitar, acoustic guitar and bass guitar, even harmonica and it’s great. Good for cutting out feedback. There are two boost switches 1. Treble Boost and 2. Overall Boost. This is what makes this pedal awesome. This pedal is big and takes up space but you don’t need another boost pedal on your board. It’s rad to have those options. Power wise, it takes 2 x 9 volt batteries which sucks when I always forget to unplug the thing, and have to put more batteries in. I ended up getting a tech guy to change it to 9v power for me and it’s now happy days. I would have given 5 stars but the batteries were thirsty. With this pedal I can get great blues tones and much more. I’ve used it as a set and forget pedal, but it does love tweaking as the sliders are powerful. It’s a keeper.

Bass Filter

There are two settings, clean and fuzz. The fuzz is fun, RHCP style. You don’t wanna use this thing all the time, but when you do...

Drum Pedal

This little pedal has a bunch of music genres and a variety of beats to suit each genre. You can adjust the tempo of each beat, the volume and tone. I use it like a hotted up metronome. It’s difficult to get a drum beat for a specific song, but good for general playing music. The drum sounds are pretty good and do what you’re looking for in a pedal. Not bad...

Great Guitar

I traded an organ for this and I’m stoked. Mine is the SL400 model. Great for blues and rock and adding pedals to. It’s heavy, but it sounds great. I’ve never played a proper Gibson Les Paul so I have nothing to compare it to. I reckon it does a great job though. Feels and looks like good quality throughout, nothing cheap or nasty here. Excellent guitar.

Tube Compressor

At first, I thought this pedal didn’t do too much. After a while of tweaking the knobs, it all became so much clearer. You can add a little bit of grit if you choose, or a little bit of boost, or a bit of both. It adds a little sustain and fullness to the sound. A little goes a long way. The only gripe is the dodgy power lead that feels like it’s going to fall out any second and is not one for easy replacement. I like it though. I generally have it on all the time. Good pedal.

Great Hollow Body Guitar

I wanted a guitar to play the blues with and the opportunity came with a second hand cherry one for AUD$450. I put new strings on her and it nails the blues sound. Nice clean tone that starts to sing a little. Easy to play and light weight compared to a Les Paul. There’s plenty of tone shaping options with the 4 controls and the humbuckers sound strong and bright. The Les Paul gives a rock blues tone, while the Dot gives a more pure blues tone ie BB King, Otis Rush, Magic Sam, John Lee Hooker vibe. I love it.

Great fun

A bit of time experimenting with the dials to find your sound is worth the effort. I use it on guitar and bass and it sounds great on both. It just naturally makes your sound better ie cleaner, sparkly and chimey. Hours of fun in this pedal.

Fun bass fuzz

A mild to somewhat angry fuzz pedal. Adds a nice fizz to the bass tone. The foot controlled knob is handy on the go. This pedal thickens up your tone and adds sustain to your notes. Fun to play.
