Great cheap analog poly sytnh

We use it a lot! Sounds very nice and this beast is very versatile, bass, leads, arpeggios, pad and everything in between. Lovely machine. The sequencer is useful too.

Perfect for bass

We are absolutely in love with this synth. For bassline is a monster, but also for lead, percussions, efxs and dark pads. The real fat moog sound in a small gear, and not expensive at all. Just a wish come true.

I am torn between one these, a used slim phatty or a sub phatty with the mini keys (even though I will probably play it from my full size controller).... had a chance to compare Moog's other little bass synths to the Minitar?

braincave

The minitaur play only till the middle C, C3; no higher notes, this could be a limitation, but for bass sounds and for that moog sound (and you get also a midi to cv interface), don't look further. Other synth though are very interesting, it's all all about with what you need, the erebus or the basstation2, just to name a few.

I wound up falling in love with the sub phatty and followed it up with an SE1 rack.... but I am still eyeing this little bass box... there's something about the old Taurus sound that's just not in the phatty or a model D type of thing

thanks for your useful input

Thank you, yes i agree with you, this little beast have a unique bottom end. Just perfect..well, for bass sounds ; )

This baby is a monster!

Version 1. Sound amazing! just 1 osc but with lots of modulation (it's a semi modular indeed). The envelope can be very snappy, perfect for analog percussion, or soft and creamy. The sound is fat, we love this baby and we use it live controlled by the arturia beatstep pro.

Ok, this is not the real thing, but sounds great.

and now with 1 machine you have 808 + 909 + 707 + 606 + effects + insert and sidechain. Long slider, solid build. Just perfect for us!

Great machine.

FM in a box. 3 pcm rhythm track + 1 synth. Lot of fun and great sound. We use it live.

have you een the new Korg Volca FM?

braincave

yes, but not tried yet. From the demo and videos this other volca sounds pretty good too to me, maybe a bit limited. A different piece of kit though.
