Baranik Guitars is a small-shop luthiery operation founded by Mike Baranik, who trained at the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, Arizona in 1993 and began building under his own name in 1997. After years in Arizona, the workshop relocated to California's central coast, where Baranik continues to build a limited number of instruments each year.

The brand built its reputation on high-end steel-string acoustic guitars, with models such as the Retreux parlor, the 00/OM, and the Meridian concert earning attention on the boutique acoustic circuit through appearances at shows like Healdsburg, Newport, Woodstock, and NAMM.
