BECOS FX is a boutique effects pedal company founded by Romanian electronics enthusiast and pedal builder Costel Burlan. Originally from the Black Sea port city of Constanța, Romania, Burlan began tinkering with circuits as a child and started designing his own gear around 2012. The company debuted with the Micro Booster onboard guitar preamp before releasing its first pedal, the TS8-MS MIDI Overdrive/Switcher. BECOS FX has since relocated its operations to Vienna, Austria, where each pedal is hand-assembled in a micro-lab using premium components including low-tolerance thin-film resistors, audio-grade film capacitors, and gold-plated switching.

The company is best known for its CompIQ line of VCA compressor pedals, which aim to pack rack-style studio compression into pedalboard-friendly formats.
