Chemistry Design Werks is a Minneapolis-based pedalboard company founded by industrial designer Chris Trifilio. Before launching the brand in the mid-2000s, Trifilio spent nearly two decades designing products in fields ranging from snow sleds to medical devices. The idea for the company's flagship Holeyboard came out of frustration with hook-and-loop fasteners failing in hot practice spaces — the solution was a perforated board that lets players attach pedals with zip ties, DualLock, magnets, or quick-release plates through a patented hole pattern.

The Holeyboard line has expanded over the years into several variants, including the Holeyboard Standard, Wide, Big Kahuna, Dragonfly, ZigZag, AmpTop, and the modular ABC system built around interchangeable Module A, Module B, and Module C pieces. More recent iterations such as the Holeyboard NEXT Series use Stonewood — a paper-and-resin composite produced in Wisconsin — along with movable angled top decks, integrated handles, and screw-in rubber feet. Boards are fabricated in the Twin Cities using U.S.-sourced parts.
