Crestwood is a budget guitar brand distributed by La Playa Distributing (LDP) of Madison Heights, Michigan, originally based in Detroit. The earliest Crestwood instruments date to the 1960s and 1970s, when LDP imported guitars built in Japan at factories such as Guyatone, Matsumoku and Fujigen Gakki. Like many badged Japanese imports of that era, the catalog drew heavily from popular American designs and spanned a wide range of products — solidbody and hollowbody electrics, violin basses, Les Paul–style copies, steel-string and nylon-string acoustics, mandolins, banjos, and even fuzz boxes.

Because La Playa sourced from multiple Japanese workshops and rebadged instruments under the Crestwood name, individual models can be difficult to attribute to a specific factory or year, and quality varied accordingly. Later Crestwood-branded guitars have been produced overseas as entry-level instruments, including Strat-style models like the ST920. The brand is most often encountered today on the vintage market, where collectors of 1960s Japanese 'lawsuit-era' and quirky off-brand guitars seek out Crestwood electrics for their period pickups and idiosyncratic styling.

Crestwood is unrelated to the Epiphone Crestwood, a separate solidbody electric model line produced by Epiphone from 1958 to 1970.
