The company was founded by Reto Hirschi, who developed the original concept after looking for a way to manage cymbal volume in performance and recording without resorting to earplugs or plexiglass shielding. Launched in 2005, the brand built its reputation around replacing traditional felt cymbal washers with engineered cellular foam alternatives.
