Eaton was a house-brand nameplate used by the T. Eaton Company, a major Canadian department store and mail-order retailer founded in Toronto in 1869. Like the Sears "Silvertone" line in the United States, Eaton-branded instruments were not built in-house — they were sourced from established manufacturers and rebadged for sale through Eaton's stores and catalog.

Under the Eaton and related house names (including Viking and Symphonie for amplifiers and Saturn for electric guitars), the company offered acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitars, and tube and solid-state amplifiers from roughly the 1930s through the 1970s. Acoustic flat-tops and archtops from the 1930s and 1940s were largely supplied by Harmony in Chicago, while pianos labeled "T. Eaton" were built under contract by Mason & Risch beginning in 1900.

Because Eaton was a retail brand rather than a builder, the instruments turn up today mainly on the Canadian vintage market, where they are valued more as Harmony-built or Japanese-built workhorses of their era than as collectible originals.
