Erlewine Guitars is a custom guitar and repair shop founded by Mark Erlewine, who began as an apprentice to his cousin Dan Erlewine in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1969 before purchasing the business and relocating it to Austin, Texas in 1974. Originally operating as Erlewine Instruments, the shop rebranded as Erlewine Guitars to reflect its specialization and has remained a fixture of the Austin music scene, now based on Burnet Road.

The brand is best known for a small catalog of distinctive original designs: the Chiquita travel guitar, co-designed with Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top and famously seen in Back to the Future; the Lazer, a compact headless solidbody associated with Johnny Winter; and the Automatic, a hardtail solidbody used by Mark Knopfler. The shop also builds one-off custom electrics and acoustics alongside its repair work.
