E.W.S. (Engineering Work Store) is a Tokyo-based effects pedal manufacturer and modification shop, operating as a division of Prosound Communications Japan. Founded in 2006 as a repair service with the motto "Good music comes from a well-maintained instrument," the company began releasing original pedals in 2009. E.W.S. first gained recognition for its modifications of the Arion SCH-Z chorus pedal, which added true bypass switching and a chorus/vibe mode toggle, earning a devoted following among tone enthusiasts.
