Exar Electronix is a Polish effects pedal manufacturer based in Ostrołęka, Poland, with roots tracing back to 1983 and its first pedal series launching in 1989. The enclosures and model-numbering scheme initially echoed Boss, Ibanez, and Maxon conventions, releasing successive product series through the late 2000s and early 2010s, though the circuits developed their own character over time.

The company is best known for its drive and distortion pedals, including the OD-1 Overdrive — a tube screamer variant with a slightly higher-gain, more transparent voicing that JHS Pedals incorporated as one of the presets in its Bonsai multi-screamer.
