Frostwave is a small Australian effects manufacturer founded by Paul Perry, a Melbourne-based designer with deep ties to the modular synth and DIY electronics community. Perry's interest in analog synthesis began with a secondhand Korg MS-20, and his early work on a Quad MIDI-to-CV converter laid the groundwork for the Frostwave hardware line.

The brand is best known for the Resonator, a pedal-format clone of the Korg MS-20's high-pass and low-pass filter section with separate cutoff and resonance controls plus a wet/dry mix, designed to handle both guitar and synthesizer signals.
