Future Sound Systems is an independent musical device manufacturer based in Bristol, England, founded by Finlay Shakespeare in 2005. The company specializes in Eurorack modular synthesizer modules and semi-modular instruments, with a reputation for distinctive analog circuit design and high-profile collaborations. FSS worked with Throbbing Gristle's Chris Carter and original circuit designer Roy Gwinn to create the Gristleizer series (TG1–TG5), a set of Eurorack modules derived from the effect circuit used throughout Throbbing Gristle's catalogue. The company also partnered with Mute Records founder Daniel Miller on two performance-oriented modules, Stumm and Makrow, debuted at Superbooth 2019.

Their most ambitious standalone instrument is the Cric, a fully analog semi-modular desktop synthesizer featuring a three-VCO oscillator section, state-variable filter with wave folding, four cycling function generators, and a 24×32 pin matrix for experimental signal routing.
