Nagra is a Swiss audio manufacturer founded in 1951 by Polish-born engineer Stefan Kudelski, who introduced the original Nagra I portable reel-to-reel tape recorder while still a student in Lausanne. The name comes from the Polish word for "will record." Subsequent models such as the Nagra III, Nagra IV-S, and the time-code-equipped Nagra IV-STC became standard tools in film production, broadcast journalism, and field music recording for decades, earning the company multiple Academy and Emmy technical awards.

The brand is now operated by Audio Technology Switzerland S.A., a 2012 spin-off from the Kudelski Group, and is based in Romanel-sur-Lausanne. Its product line spans professional location recorders such as the Nagra Seven and Nagra VI, and a high-end hi-fi catalog that includes the Classic and HD series of tube and solid-state preamplifiers, phono stages, DACs, and amplifiers (the Classic Preamp, HD PREAMP, Classic DAC, and Classic AMP among them).

Nagra equipment is closely associated with location sound recordists in cinema and documentary work, and the older portable decks remain sought after by archivists and analog enthusiasts. The hi-fi line is distributed through specialist dealers and is known for its VU-meter aesthetic carried over from the company's professional recorders.
