Peter Cook is a British luthier based in Hanwell, West London, known for custom electric guitar and bass building and repair work from the 1970s and 1980s. He developed the Ned Callan range for the Shaftesbury brand in the 1970s before launching his own Axis line of guitars and basses in the 1980s. In 1981 he co-founded Peter Cook's Guitar World at 69 Station Road with Trevor Newman, which operated as both a workshop and a retail storefront.

Cook's custom instruments and repair work drew clients from across rock and pop, with documented work for John Entwistle of The Who, Lemmy of Motörhead, Robert Smith of The Cure, Whitesnake's Neil Murray, The Damned, Tears for Fears, B.B. King and Bruce Springsteen. The Axis basses in particular have become collectible among players of vintage British-built instruments.

Cook stepped away from building in the late 1980s to pursue other interests, and the Hanwell shop has continued to trade under his name as a repair, setup and guitar retail destination in West London.
