Preston Thompson Guitars is a boutique acoustic guitar maker based in Sisters, Oregon, founded by luthier Preston Thompson. Thompson trained with Charles Fox at the School of the Guitar Research & Design Center in Vermont in the late 1970s and later refined his craft at Randy Wood's Old Time Pickin' Parlor in Nashville. A collaboration with bluegrass guitarist Charles Sawtelle of Hot Rize gave him hands-on access to a collection of pre-war vintage instruments, whose detailed measurements still inform the company's designs.

The shop is known for handcrafted dreadnoughts, OMs, 000s, parlor-size guitars, and a flagship PKT dreadnought, built to evoke the sound and feel of 1930s American flat-tops. Models are offered across the Masterpiece, Timeless, and Wildlife Series, using tonewoods such as Brazilian rosewood, Honduran mahogany, Oregon myrtlewood, and various spruces. The instruments have a reputation in bluegrass and flatpicking circles for power, headroom, and a responsive voice.

After Preston Thompson's death in 2019, the team of luthiers he trained has continued building to his specifications. Signature models have been associated with bluegrass artists including Molly Tuttle, Billy Strings, and Peter Rowan.
