SVL Guitars is a small English custom shop founded by Simon Law, a professional guitar repairman and amplifier technician who set up the brand after years of working on high-end custom and boutique instruments. Originally established in Gloucestershire and later based in Hampshire, SVL is a one-man operation, with Law building each guitar himself and finishing them in thin coats of nitrocellulose lacquer.

The lineup centers on vintage-inspired S-style solidbodies, including the SVL Custom, SVL Reserve, SVL Super and the SVL '61 Reserve, often offered in aged or "Journeyman" relic finishes. Builds typically feature hand-cut vintage bone nuts and custom-wound pickups, with an emphasis on traditional tonewoods and hardware.
