Founded in 2012 by Jose Manuel Martinez in Albacete, Spain, Thermion began as a technical service for vacuum tube amplifiers before evolving into a boutique manufacturer of handcrafted guitar amplifiers, pedals, and hybrid systems. The company operates under the legal entity Triode Electronic Engineering S.L. and builds all of its products by hand in its Spanish workshop, using aerospace-grade aluminum and sustainable, plastic-free packaging made entirely from recycled materials.
Thermion's pedal lineup spans a wide range of analog effects. The Stone Age is a multi-engine fuzz pedal housing four distinct circuits — Single Transistor, Maestro, Fuzz Face, and a modified Muff — with added octave and clean-blend capabilities. The Gasoline is a high-gain overdrive, the Heartbreaker a vintage-voiced saturation pedal, the Breakthru a British-amp-inspired drive with a three-way VRM switching system, and the Uprising a dual boost covering clean sparkle through heavy gain. The Outlaw combines analog delay with a boost circuit, while the Black Sun is an analog rotary-phaser inspired by Seattle-era tones. The Breathe integrates tap delay, dual reverb, and boost in a single enclosure, and the PowerBolt series (PowerTrem, PowerVibe) offers more affordable tremolo and vibrato options.
On the amplifier side, the Zero Dynamic Hybrid Amplifier is a compact Class D stereo floor unit delivering two 40-watt outputs designed to replicate tube-amp dynamics and harmonics for pedalboard-centric players. The Freeway Analog Interface Amplifier distills the Zero concept into an even smaller format, functioning as a DI amplifier, speaker modeler, and USB recording interface. Thermion also developed the patented SE2 (Studio Environment Emulation) system, which converts recorded pedal preamp signals into analog-digital emulations of classic amplifiers, microphones, and speaker cabinets.
