KMA Machines is a Berlin-based effects pedal company founded in 2013 by guitarist and engineer Enrico Preuß. The name derives from Karl-Marx-Allee, the Berlin street where Preuß began building pedals in a shared apartment. What started with a run of just ten Fuzzly Bear fuzz pedals — a modified Jordan Bosstone clone — has grown into a full manufacturing operation housed in a facility by the River Spree, equipped with CNC machines and UV printers while maintaining hand assembly and quality checks.

The company's lineup spans a wide range of effects, with a particular emphasis on dirt pedals. The Wurm and its successor the Guardian of the Wurm deliver high-gain distortion with an integrated noise gate, while the Chief Disruptor covers fuzz and distortion territory and the Logan handles lower-gain overdrive with a mid-boost. Beyond drive pedals, KMA builds the Horizont four-stage JFET phaser, the Cirrus delay and reverb, the Queequeg sub-octave generator, the Moai Maea analog triple octaver, and the Tyler Deluxe frequency splitter. The Endgame, one of their most ambitious designs, combines stereo double-tracking, cabinet and power amp simulation, and an effects loop in a single unit.

KMA pedals are built with premium components including Alpha potentiometers, WIMA and Panasonic capacitors, Neutrik jacks, and Hammond die-cast enclosures. Each pedal features distinctive graphic artwork created in collaboration with designer Karlowitsch, where the visuals reflect the character of the circuit inside — a design philosophy established with the original Fuzzly Bear and carried through the entire range.
