Vorp FX is a one-person operation based in Austria, run by Horst Prillinger as a hobby rather than a commercial enterprise. The pedals are handmade in small quantities, with some models limited to just a handful of units. The brand functions as much as a pedal-building blog as it does a maker, with detailed documentation of each build on its website.
The lineup spans fuzz, distortion, overdrive, reverb, delay, and modulation effects. Notable models include the Beardface, a modified recreation of the rare Guyatone PS-102 Zoom Box from 1977; the Double Dodo, which pairs two DOD 250-style overdrive circuits in a single enclosure; the Ampère Fuzz, a gated silicon fuzz inspired by an obscure Chinese pedal; and the Espresso, a Harmonic Percolator variant. On the ambient side, the Astronaut and Blandine reverbs are both built around deadastronautfx designs, capable of self-oscillation for atmospheric textures. The Fox, a four-transistor germanium-diode fuzz based on a 1971 circuit, and the Tape Machine, a delay inspired by the Keeley Magnetic Echo, round out the range.
Due to the hobbyist nature of the operation, Vorp FX pedals appear sporadically on the secondhand market, primarily through Reverb, and carry a certain collector appeal given their extreme rarity.
Vorp FX has 4 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Overdrive Effects Pedals, Distortion Effects Pedals, and Reverb Effects Pedals.
