Great quality
These are great sounding headphones, this is what I use to produce. Yes I know, producing when headphones, but it works.

Great mastering tool
I don't think I ever made a song without the Fruity Limiter. It is an amazing, basic mastering tool, and also great for sidechaining

One of my favs
3xOsc is a great VST, you can basically make any sound with this, and it sounds amazing. This is what I use to make M83-ish sound with, and I also use this to make white noise effects, etc etc

an great synth
This is what I use to make most of my leads for songs. It's easy to use and great. You can get a lot of presets for this too if you're not into making your own sound.

Easy to use and a lot of fun
FL Studio is an easy to use DAW (in my opinion at least) that is great for working fast. It comes with a lot of good plugins too, great for beginner producers.
