A very versatile and neat flanger, BUT...

The main issue with this flanger in my experience is that it boosts your signal when you engage it. This has been an issue with playing live. Other than that issue, it's a pretty nice flanger with great modes and creative possibilities. However, I've been going back to my Boss MD-200 for modulation now, as the flanger on that does not boost your signal when you engage it.

The only bass overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal you'll probably ever need!

A great pedal right out of the box, but infinitely tweakable parameters with the Neuro App to get the exact sounds you need. A great option if you can't decide what dirt pedals to get for your bass. You can also download various presets uploaded by other users on the app cloud. Can't say enough good things about this.

A great harmonizer that works great with guitar or bass.

Before I got this pedal, I used to have a Boss PS-6. While I liked certain things about it and I did like it for guitar, I found that it didn't work that well for bass for me as the tracking was a bit glitchy with it (mostly with bass solos). With the Quintessence, the tracking is way smoother, it sounds way better on bass and the pedal is even more customizable than the PS-6. The mash footswitch is great too as you can bend intervals in certain chords as well, which is a handy thing.

A classic FM synth with versatile sound possibilities.

A really good FM synth. It can be somewhat difficult to program (and if you use a software editor like the TX81Z Programmer for Windows, it can really help), but if you have enough patience with it, it offers great FM flexibility and is also a great companion to a DX-7. While it offers 4 operators in comparison to the 6 the DX-7 offers, it makes up for it with allowing you to change the operators into a different waveform than only sine waves, which can give you a different variety of FM sounds. While it doesn't sound as warm as a DX-7, you can also still get some of those classic DX-7 sounds on this unit as well, despite having fewer operators. They're relatively cheap too.

The Pinnacle of Overdrive Pedals

If there was ever one pedal that I would never be without on my signal chain, this would definitely be it!

I've been using this pedal for about a year now and the tone I get from it is unparalleled to any pedal I've ever heard or played through. It respects the fundamental signal coming from your bass while adding a natural-sounding overdrive to the signal, giving a natural, non-synthetic sounding tone without sucking out the low frequencies. It's also rather versatile; you can be subtle with it and dial the drive back to get a warmer, more vintage-style tone. Or you can crank the drive to deliver a brutal assault of grinding distortion that modern rock and metal bassists tend to crave.

Lately I've been recording with the pedal's parallel output so I get a track of the sound of the B7K along with a clean DI track, and the recording sounds amazing. Worth a try, and you cannot even tell they're separate tracks, as the two separate tracks are synonymous with each other.

Either way, I highly recommend this pedal if you're looking for a top-of-the-line modern bass tone that you will be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. It's worth the money.

A bright set of strings that deliver a great punch!

I've been using these strings for metal on my Ibanez Soundgear, and I love how nicely they punch through the mix and have a nice midrange growl to them. Great for slap playing, but I find they're also great for metal. They also last a while too.

Edit: One thing that I've noticed is that the B string in some sets isn't necessarily consistent all the time with the rest. Sometimes the B string sounds dead compared to a regular XL B string.
