Keeps Getting Better
FL was my first ever DAW I bought with my own money, as the entry price was actually affordable enough. I used to think the list of effect plugins wasn't extensive enough after trying other DAWs, but that has since changed with the recently added effects, most of which are included for completely free.
I also cannot emphasise enough how big of a deal lifetime free updates are. Having to buy Ableton Live AGAIN, just because a new version is torture, its insanity.
To summarize, as the kids say - It's the GOAT

I hate these, BUT...
I hate these. The build quality is not good, the soundstage is claustrophobic, and the frequency response is all over the place, imaging is fine for the most part. Comfort is quite good and I actually like the look and design. But still, I can't think of anything worse to get for the price, but they have two redeeming features in my opinion; the first being they're a useful point of reference. What I mean by that is if your music sounds okay on these, it'll sound good pretty much anywhere. The second is the mic isn't half bad.

What, specifically, makes these headphones bad for mixing? You recommended m40x as an alternative that you said was more comfortable for mixing. What did you mean by that? I'm just curious.

I think the M50x and M40x are fine for mixing, there's just many better alternatives for the same or lower price, I see these as mostly a good headphone for monitoring, listening and especially travel. They're closed backs on ear headphones which give them a quite narrow soundstage,. They're quite neutral so they can work for mixing, it just takes a lot more work unlike with certain over ear open backs where the mixing kinda does "itself" in my experience - a very effortless process.
For me, the M40x are much less fatiguing to use for longer periods at a time. I haven't used them super extensively, but for the price they seem to be better value. I see them as mostly equal to the M50x for mixing, meaning not ideal, but workable.

Great headphones for mixing and mastering
Not my favourite for listening, but definitely my go-to for mixing! Aside from the quite loud peak at 8kHz they are fairly neutral, and for me personally the mixing kinda just mixes itself with these. I got mine used for 250 Euros, and for that price I think it is great value. But 550 Euros is a bit steep, so if you are on a budget consider the DT770 or the Sennheiser HD560s
