Gear 6

The most authentic and responsive sounding solid state amp I have ever tried. Sounds even better than most part-valve amps. The preset 'voices' are fantastic and varied, with an incredible bass response and great sounding built in effects.
Even for the budget series of Gretsch guitars, this blows so many others out of the water. With a chambered basswood body it is so light and resonant with plenty of sustain. I am basing many components of my future guitar build off of this.
In a blind test it wouldn't quite fool you when pitched against a real tube screamer, but I prefer this over the real thing because of the increased amount of distortion available and the individual treble and bass controls. The price is also incredible.
This simple two-knob analogue overdrive works best giving a boost to the clean channel or giving it a bluesy smooth and dark overdrive. On an already driven amp, the warmth is a bit overpowering and takes away some of the definition. An added tone control would be highly beneficial.
A rather affordable copy of a triangle Big Muff. Sounds great with the volume and tone maxed out but lacks in variation.
A bit crackly in the top end, but a true and sweet wah tone. Still saving up for a CAE Wah with a boost however.
