DC Versus Marvel

So.... Rumors abound with the new Dawn of Justice movie. Here are some tasty ones. I'll put the old rumors first, then the NEW rumors. These are not solid, nor are they spoilers. This is mostly theory craft from fans. If you wish to be totally suprised, don't read below.

  1. Doomsday is first villain
  2. Doomsday evolves from Zod's dead body
  3. Cameos from Flash, Aquaman
  4. Nightwing makes an apreance

NEW Rumors

  1. Villain is BiZaRRo
  2. Cpt Boomerang makes appearance
  3. BEN AFLEC IS NOT BRUCE WAYNE. I love this one. Batman is supposed to be Deathstroke and Christian Bale makes an appearance as original batman at the end. The butler is not Alfred, but Deathstroke's friend. They say this because Aflec has grey in his hair and they never call him Bruce in the trailers.
  4. The title isn't

*Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice *

It's

Batman V (5) : Superman, "Dawn of Justice"

making this the 5th film in the series. Dark Knight 1-3, then Part 4 being Man of Steel, then Dawn of Justice. Goes well with number 3 eh?

All 4 Green Lanterns of Earth (Kyle Raynar, Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner) do a combo tag-team on the Villain, putting him out of the fight. Movie sets up that the Lanterns will be the saviors of Earth against Darkseid. Guy Gardner turns Red Lantern in end credits.

Okay I made that one up, but you know it would rock your socks. Lanterns > Everyone else

Theory Crafts from fans on SUICIDE SQUAD:

This one went all out and crazy.. Again, don't read below if you feel these fan made ideas might reveal the movie plot.

  1. The Joker is barely even in the movie. Rescued as 5th member of Squad at end.

I have been pitching this one for a while and I'm starting to see other people have the same idea. How little they show him in the trailer makes me think he's only there for last 20 minutes.

  1. The Joker is actually Jason Todd. The tattoos have a lot of theories. The J on his face being like the Scar of a J on Jason's face, the Bird on his right arm, A robin presumably, the stupid tattoos saying "Damaged, Smile, HA hA ha Ha Ha HA" were done by Joker TO Jason as a punishment. Jason is crazy after his beating at the hands of Joker. Metal teeth needed because Joker broke out his teeth with a crowbar.

  2. Christian Bale returns as Batman This is coming out of the fact that Batman V and Suicide Squad are the most expensive movies DC has ever made and they theorize that it is because Bale is getting 50,000,000 for A film that has not been listed, Will Smith and some of the other large cast members are getting GIANT checks as well.

Wow, those are some theories and rumors indeed ... not sure what to make of "Batman V: Sup..." versus "Batman VS Superman" ... not sure I agree with the logic on that one.

Well... if it turns out to be true and it IS part 5, they claim we would see Ben Aflec AND Christian Bale at the end, both as Batman.

not that I am a huge fan or Bale's, but I hope his Batman kicks aflek's ass if they appear in costume in the same film in the future.... it would cheer me greatly to see aflek get his ass whooped more often on screen or in real life... maybe his brother Casey should beat him with a crowbar infront of the paparazzi for us all some time, as in some time soon, maybe Ben could be wearing the bat suit or maybe a clown costume, but this needs to happen... I'm not usually a big advocate of violence, but Ben Aflek really needs some cast-iron correction (plus we could be certain he would be unable to fuck up any more movies while he was hospitalized)

additionally, Ben should be required to buy everyone on equipboard a new guitar, amp, synth or whatever floats their boat by way of apology for existing, that's what I would call the dawn of justice!

Why the Aflec hate ?

I don't honestly know who would win between Bruce Wayne or DeathStroke.

Why the Aflec hate ?

Its Ben hate.... I like Casey fine and would drink beer with him... you ask me that as if you are unaware of Ben Aflec's filmography... Daredevil? Gigli? I could go on, but talking about Daredevil just kicked up some severe PTSD

I read DC vs Marvel and I just thought shit the internet anything versus anything else means flamewar. I just wanted to say that before I even start to read this thread.

sadly, no.... all of us who posted to this get on pretty well even if we disagree about who would win in this comicbook battle royale (ahem, marvel), so no flame wars

Justice League VS Avengers

Superman (god)

Super Girl (god, stronger than Super-Man but less wise, easier to trap)

Wonder Woman (god, medium sized forces at command)

Green Lanterns (Universe's Last Hope and defense, huge military)

Hawk Girl (weaker god)

Hawk Man (weaker god)

Flash (Fastest Speedster in all comics - Time Travel)

Batman (World's greatest detective mind, Bat Family includes a deadman)

J'onn J'onz (Shape Shifter, intangible, genius, super strong, flying, psychic)

Aqua Man (god/Poseidon, huge military)

Captain Marvel (Egyptian god, nearly on par with Superman)

Dr. Fate (near deity level magic user)

Cyborg (Just muscle, hacker elite)

Lex Luthor (One of the world's greatest minds, less than Batman of course)

Deadman (Cancels out Moon-Knight)

Green Arrow (Better than Hawkeye, has more resources money/partners)

Booster Gold (Captain America + Ironman, time travel)

Blue Beetle(Spider-Man + Iron Man)

::::::::VS:::::

Captain America (limited to human capablitlies = Batman would beat)

Iron Man (Would beat Cyborg, would not beat Lex Luthor)

Scarlet Witch (HAAA... HAAAA... HAAAAA!)

Hulk (Beaten by Superman)

Spider-Man (Hard to tell, but one of the better members in Avengers - Aqua Man par???)

Wolverine (Nearly unbeatable, not intelligent, slow healing factor)

Thor (Ties out with Wonder Woman as lesser god)

Quick Silver (Severely beaten by Flash, daddy may be useful if on good terms)

Scarlet Witch (Avenger's only hope if sane)

Black Panther (a less wise, less inventive Batman - Hawk Girl may be par)

Vision (Good match for Martian Manhunter)

Sentry (Really Tough but may be a match for Captain Marvel)

Ms. Marvel (Super Girl could bring down pretty quick)

Deadpool (True wildcard. Survivor, a single Green Lantern could get rid of)

Dr. Strange (No match for Dr. Fate in terms of depth)

Hawkeye (Recruited at an Academy Sports with Scarlet Witch)

yeah, but you are ignoring the psychological aspect, Boom.... and the villians... brute power is worthless if you are a victim of 2 dimensional characterization.... your story driven motivations will be your undoing

DC has been struggling to catch up to marvel in this department since well, always!

DC has been struggling to catch up to marvel in this department since well, always!

DC has only struggled in the cinematic Universe. Most of Marvel's greatest stories and characters are copies of DC content. DC has taken a bit from Marvel, but it;s mostly the other way around.

Even on a cartoon basis, Justice League trumps the Avengers cartoon. X-Men could be considered the biggest cartoon series for comics, but Marvel is very hit or miss. They throw a box of nails and hope one of them stick. DC is more selective with what they put out. They had a decade of bad movies, but I beieve they have grown from it.

when Marvel stole from DC in the 60s and 70s it seemed to be to add actual characterization to the DC characters who were sorely 2D until the 80s.... either that or it was spoofing DC like the shiar imperial guard.... the big exception is the stuff Kirby did for Marvel when he returned home after attempting to do his New Gods series with DC.... he really just revamped the whole thing and started over at Marvel after becoming disgusted with DC's editorial process so of course anything spun off from Kirby's cosmic characters is still very DCish.... in the days before creator control, this was bound o happen when a big name jumped ship

its hard for me to buy that Marvel is unoriginal, they can be hit or miss, but in the 60s Fantastic Four broke new ground in big ways and in the 70s Chris Claremont revolutionized what a superhero rag could be when he took over the X-Men... Marvel has literally rewritten the book over and over in the silver age making it possible for guys like Alan Moore to finish the job in the 80s

I think this has started to go from friendly sleepover party in comics pajamas to Yuppies arguing in line at Starbucks. Let's take a breath and remember we are all friends :)

Also, matzoh woman? WTF. I can't imagine what power(s?) she could possibly have. That's a horrible, horrible name for a superhero. Wow. Just, face palm!

There have been many, many [successful, i.o. Marvel and DC] Jewish comic book authors, ink men, etc. But I do not recall reading anything about such religious persuasions on the actual pages themselves. Clearly I have not read enough books? Thought I was a big Flash fan, but did not realize Barry Allen was mispucha. And Batwoman, that's another surprise.

How can Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" character be Jewish? isn't he an eternal? They don't have religion, do they? So are you just making this list based on the comic creators? Because if that's your method, I think your list is way too short ...

Wesley Dodds Sandman, not the Crow who was stuck in a glass cup in a basement :)

Superman is said to be a represenation of Jesus Christ from the viewpoint of what Jewish men think Christians see him as... or something close to that. Superman is Jesus Christ.... as is Goku in the American dubs. "I am the light of the universe. It's Savior, the hope, No man comes before the Krillin but by me"

As a Jewish man, and friend of many Jewish men, I have no idea what you are talking about ...

Neil Gaiman (spelled wrong?) created Sandman didn't he? Major book, won lots of awards, just released the 25th anniversary omnibus. No idea who Wesley Dodds is ... will have to Google that I suppose.

I love the idea of Jewish comic heroes and all that. I've got a few books myself. Just wondering how and at what point it was determined that Flash, Batwoman, etc. are Jewish. Would love to get a copy of the issue where they light their Hanukkah menorah for my son to read.

he's referrinf to Golden Age Sandman who was revived in "Sandman Mystery Theater" when I was a teenager
