Duplicate items?

I was about to add a Roland JP-08 to Jimmy Smith of Foals.

So I noticed we have the JP-08 module on EB. Thing is, Jimmy uses the JP-08 in keyboard format, as you can see here.

Should these be consolidated in the same item? Or separate? What do you guys think?

ps. Michael and I are seeing Foals live in Austin tomorrow, fuckyeah! Love that band 🤘

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

That's the module that can be added basically to any keyboard you like, so that is the same item. But we can use that thread for furthermore discussing are those the same items or not.

BTW - You lucky bastards...

Different items they are.

GEAR:
  • Fender American Standard Telecaster
  • Vox AC30CC1 1x12 Custom Classic Combo
  • Strymon TimeLine

Uh-oh, conflicting opinions. If they are different SKUs at music stores, I'd be comfortable adding them as two separate items.

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

the "K-25m Keyboard Unit" is a separate item entirely away from the JP-08 module (including the ju-06 and jx-03).

so if anything there is no keyboard edition of the jp-08, the k25m is just a controller / accessory.

jp-08

and to add on, even if there was a "keyboard edition" and "module edition" they should still be listed as two different items.

Continuing the thread of should these be the same or different...

Proco rat and vintage rat?

Klon Centaur and Klon Centaur with the centaur decal?

GEAR:

the 'vintage' rat and regular rat are a bit different internally, I don't hear a significant difference, but Rat enthusiasts will call me a fool... different items

despite Klon enthusiasts' claims that the gold centaurs sound better, it has been confirmed by DIY stombox folks (with the patience to scrape away all the epoxy and trace the circuit) that there are NO internal differences between Centaur versions... while the case and graphics changed, the guts have remained the same since the 1st gold horsie units hit the streets when I still had acne

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I think that is correct to have those different Rat versions as they have differences which indeed include one being labeled as "The Rat" and the other just "Rat" so it may result subtle but there is even a specific name for each other, I would never consider merging them. For the Klons I would merge them as those are just the same model with different graphics.

GEAR:
  • Fender American Standard Telecaster
  • Vox AC30CC1 1x12 Custom Classic Combo
  • Strymon TimeLine

Yep, this. I'd merge the Klons, keep the Rats as they are. Thanks for the merge job, there were multiple pages of the same pro co rat and now it's one awesome mega-page!

There's no such thing as a Little Big Muff with Tone Wicker, right?

http://equipboard.com/items/little-big-muff-with-tone-wicker

Is this a duplicate of http://equipboard.com/items/electro-harmonix-big-muff-pi-with-tone-wicker ?

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

nah, I wanna say they made a little big muff with a tone wicker in the nano size enclosure at one point... I could be wrong though... I wish EHX would just get back to doing one version of the big muff, they all sound basically the same apart from the 80s IC-based version that the pumpkins used a lot on Siamese Dream... God Mike Matthews, pick an enclosure size, keep the tone wicker, and make our lives easier already

Are these the same or different?

http://equipboard.com/items/gretsch-double-jet

http://equipboard.com/items/gretsch-g5445t-electromatic-double-jet-w-bigsby-electric-guitar-black

Apologies, I don't know a whole lot about Gretsch guitars, does the "Electromatic" signify something different/special vs a Gretsch that's not Electromatic?

GEAR:
  • Fender Telecaster Custom Electric Guitar
  • Big Ear Pedals Woodcutter
  • HeadRush FRFR Go Portable Desktop Amplifier

It's a duplicate. Not sure about the meanings of the names, but the numbering is kind of screwed up. G5445T is the exact same as the G5441T. The difference is the latter is a firebird red colour.

I say delete the Gretsch Double Jet, and edit the second one by removing "G5545T" as that's pretty much the same as saying "Gretsch BLACK ...".

I think the Electromatic to Pro series would be like Standard to "American Standard" and all the other high-end Fender guitars. Or, if you'd like, Studio to Standard.

any gretsch that doesn't have a model # starting with a 6 these days is an entry level to intermediate guitars.... within each electromatic rangethere is a lot of quality fluctuation whereas ever since gretsch merged with fenders the 'pro' guitars (models G6XXX) are insanely consistent. The difference between a pro gretsch and the lower ones is more substantial than the difference between a mexi standard fender and American standard. There's not a ton of inbetween. Not to say the cheaper grtsches are bad guitars (some are bad, most are at least decent, many are downright good especially when comparing them to the comparable Epiphones), just that the serious gretsches are FANTASTIC guitars if you like the gretsch thing.

These three must be the same, right?

https://equipboard.com/items/ehx-battalion

https://equipboard.com/items/electro-harmonix-battalion

https://equipboard.com/items/electro-harmonix-electro-harmonix-bass-battalion

So they should probably be merged into one item.
