OFF TOPIC

I had to borrow a grand from my dad to get it all going. Started classes today but I'm still a little offended by the whole thing, especially since every professor I have told this to hasn't ever heard of this before.

Bureaucracy's a bitch...

Perchance anyone seen or are going to see any concerts sometime soon?

Not I. Lubbock rarely gets anyone I would want to see come through town and driving 8 hours for a show doesn't appeal to me anymore. I'd really like to see Metallica once so if they end up touring soon, I will try and go to that.

I want to start an ant colony. I just watch a video from a guy who grows tons of different species and colonies. It looks righteous. I always wanted an ant farm as a kid and never had one.

Uhhhh. Never-mind. That $h1#s too expensive. 200 bucks for a starter kit and you have to provide air-conditioning and heating.

In 2018, we're going to get another Jungle Book. It's going to have celebrities voicing the animals, with a mixture of live and CGI animals on screen with a real Indian boy.

WE JUST GOT THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate Hollywood. It's not a sequel, prequel, addition, or re-imagining. It's going to be the exact same thing we just saw in 2016. Exactly. What's the point?

I didn't see it this year and I won't 2 years hence. There already was a jungle book and it had awesome songs and was humorously racist in an inoffensively antiquated way. It was also part of my childhood.

If I want a version truer to Rudyard Kipling I will read the story to my son again. There are a lot of other enjoyable stories in the collected Kipling anyway. I never tire of "The Man Who Would Be King."

Hollywood can continue to dig its own grave like the record industry and newspaper biz did.... file sharing doesn't kill media revenue, crap content does. Why not steal a bag of dog shit? Better yet, why not enjoy the classics you already own that will enver be matched by the clowns these corporations hire....

I discovered yesterday that there is an anime version titled, "Jungle Book En". It's terrible. Every Hindi you-tuber it seems has an upload of it on their channel. I was more shocked to find that it's THE jungle book that a lot of people remember as their childhood version. Shocked me. The animation is close Lupin the 3rd and the music is horrible and muddy, like Dragonball audio.

It irritates me that these films are made though. They are wasting money and the time of everyone involved making a copy of a copy. The Brit that plays Dr. Strange is Sher Kahn. He could be making a sequel to Dr. Strange and have that film out in a years time, a film that I'm sure he will be much more known for being in than Jungle Book Re-Duex.

I forgot to mention, the man cub owns a Boomerang in this version. A flippin' boomerang. Now guess how he uses it.... go on...

He hits animals on the head with it like a club.

I thik Cumberbatch will alwys be best known as Sherlock Homes on the BBC's recent reimagining.... his Richard III wasn't too shabby either.

Its funny he is playing Kahn the tiger when he was also Kahn the space-pirate in the recent Star Trek sequel. Anyway, voiceover work takes no time or effort at all and can generally be done by actors while they are performing in another live action feature. That's why they all love it. You get to double dip, get paid twice, get your name out there twice, but do 1/2 the work!

I came across Newcastle Brown Ale. I'm digging it. It tastes good warm as well as cold. I'm going to drink this beer a while.

How does it compare to Newcastle ?

bitier, heavier, more coffee-like malts, smoother finish without the ethanol tang that new castle has these days (I swear it tasted different 10 years ago)... better with food, especially red meat

I enjoy a dark, earthy, coffee/chocolate flavor to my dark beers, but this is my new favorite all around beer. Newcastle has almost a honey quality to it. It's a very round flavor. It's a bit sweet but not overwhelmingly. I find Newcastle is a compromise between tasteless American domestics and rich European brews. I've had it for breakfast and dinner, with and without meals, different temperatures. I just sniffed the empty bottle I have next to me and it even smells pleasant after it's old and dry.

have you ever had Yard's Brawler, brewed here in my hometown of Philadelphia? If you like the sweet and earthiness of Newcastle I expect the Brawler will be a second favorite. Its one of my faves lately for EXACTLY the reasons you've mentioned.
