The Hello-Thread: Please Allow Me To Introduce Myself 👋

What aa excellent idea for a website! I discovered it 2 hours ago and been on it the whole time. Well I am Ignacio, 40 years old, and in love with music, especially guitars. I listen to and play a lot of types of music, but i like grunge very much. I grew up in Bosnia which i left when I was 13 years old because of the Balkan wars and ended up in the Netherlands where I still live. No matter what happened in my life I always kept playing because it provides an outlet for me like nothing else can (including the ladies, sorry ladies haha, i still love you a lot ;)). So yeah, I played in just one band when I was young, we played our own songs for a short period without recording anything. Nowadays I just do it in comfort of my home but I always keep my eyes open for alliances. That's me in a very small nutshell

good story, welcome

Hello Everyone,

Name is Chris(31yrs old) I am a self taught guitar play (not great either) since i was 17. I stopped playing for some years when life just had other plans. I recently got back into playing about 2 years ago and feels great to get back into playing.

Mostly just play at home. Have not done the band scene since i was 19 and i dont think i would do it again. Really enjoy friends coming over and just playing for fun. Really into metal, pop-punk, and melodic stuff. Think this site is amazing to post what gear we have and forums are a plus.

get great ;-)

welcome

Hello! I just joined yesterday, but I've been playing and singing for about 55 years ... I play guitar (6- and 12-string, acoustic and electric), mandolin (trad and octave, acoustic and electric), banjo, and I plunk around on a Turkish saz and thump on a bodhran. My musical choices range all across the American Roots spectrum, but if I had to pigeon-hole myself, I would proudly say that I am an unrepentant folkie.

I've got a mess of instruments that I do my best to play some of every day (I'm a retired teacher, so it's eaasier to do that now), and when I'm not playing and singing, I write novels (in a variety of genres ... just like my music) ...

I'm glad to be here and hope to meet and hear many new friends.

welcome, nice guitar colelction

Hi, my name is Conrad and I want to start Music Production; more as a hobby than earning money with. Just for fun. My instruments are the keys like piano, synthesizer. Looking forward to get here many useful information.

Hey there,

This is Andy from the band Ozone Mama. I have just joined and trying to figure out how can I link myself as a member to my band as an artist. Godd to meet fellow gearheads :) Andris

Hey there! My name is Chuck Cohen and I am a professional saxophonist and keyboard player living in Baltimore, Maryland. I have been performing music most of my life since 1970's and am a graduate from James Madison university (JMU) with a music degree and and internship in audio engineering. I've played sax & keys with a variety of bands. Unfortunately, due to many factors of the last several decades, and not "all bad" (marriage, kids, poverty, and finally ...one of my fingers getting cut-off & subsequently re-attached), I ended up selling off all of my equipment and instruments, including my saxophones when I thought (at the time) I would not be able to play them anymore. I am older now, kids have grown up, live in a different city, and (amazingly enough) my finger works again. So ...I have been trying to play and have been working on the extended build-out of a small personal studio for over the past 3 years. Over that period of time, I have researched, purchased, and acquired quite a bit of equipment (as you can see from my Equipboard). I didn't even know that a site like this existed, so it was a surprise when I stumbled onto it. I was looking up info/stats on a friend I used to play with in college (Keith Howland, guitarist for Chicago), and landed here. ....so I have had a lot of fun posting my equipment and reviews on them over the past couple of days. It's been a lot of fun, and I hope the info I gave out on them can help someone else out.

I've been playing guitar for 41 years. I never really had G.A.S. until last year. But, I'm enjoying it!!! 30+ of those 41 years was spent in several bands playing gig after gig after show after show. Been a long road. A long, at times WEIRD, road!

I started as a drummer in 1976 (I was 8) and couldn't afford drums - plus, my dad wouldn't put up with the noise! So, I took up guitar in 1978 after listening to Boston for 2 years and seeing the picture of Ace Frehley playing his Les Paul in the 'Evolution of KISS' booklet inside KISS Alive II. I wanted to have those lights on me and be playing a cool Les Paul in front of a crowd. And that dream came true!!

I just joined the menagerie here.

Righty-O! Ash here, not much to say about myself, being honest. You can check out my gear page, that's a work in progress, obviously. I'll be adding more as I go. Might even add some pictures of my own gear as I go. Dunno.

Anyway, about me. I'm the Mediocre Musician. The Just Good Guitarist. Ever-So-Slightly better than the douche on the quad playing Wonderwall trying to get laid. You all know the guy. Yeah, him? I'm better than. The guy under the tree playing John Friggin' Mayer? Yeah, no, him? I'm NOT better than. I've played on and off for 20 years, as depression, anxiety, heart attacks, PTSD, Bipolar, and a few other issues have allowed.

Influences range the gambit from Tony Iommi to Leslie Feist and everything in between, including Yes, Rush, Pink Floyd, Soilwork, Nightwish, Daft Punk, a-Ha!, and many more.

As far as gear goes, I like Ibanez guitars, Boss effects, Vox amps, Orange amps, Ibanez effects (specifically, the Tone Lok line), Fender basses, Tama drums, and Bosphorus cymbals. I REALLY like Blue mics. That's about it?

Feel free to ask questions.

Hi.

I`ve been music lover, musician and enthusiast whole my life. Metal is my main genre, eternal flame and passion.

I grow up listening old fathers vinyl records of jazz-rock, progressive rock, psychedelic, hard rock. Beside that I`m very fond of new age , any type of northern folk music and classical music as well.

Greetings to all music lovers out there.

After being drummer for a while I settled down with my home studio, mostly playing electric/classical guitar, bass, synths, composing, editing, mixing, mastering.

Kind regards. \m/
