My first serious electric was a Les Paul standard, wine red. I received it as a present from my dad (RIP). It has been my main guitar in studio for leads ever since.
One of my favourite axes. Sounds somewhere in between an SG and a tele. Took my a while to get a second hand one in nice condition as thee babies are pretty rare in Europe. My has the Kluson tuners (instead of the modern Steinbergs) so it is pretty heavy on the head, prone to dive. The Firebird is like a wild horse, you have to learn how to ride it.
It was a great bang for the buck. Faded cherry Flying V, I purchased it years ago from someone who didn't like the shape. I had to fix one of the pickups, after a proper set up and cleaning, it is one of my main touring guitar. Sounds a lot like the Gibson SG I had back then.
I used to be a big fan of the Baja telecaster. I am the only guitarist in the band and single coil teles were somehow not really cutting through the band mix. I have always used one or two dirt pedals so the single coil hum got pretty annoying after a while. Mine is a made in Japan 72 Thinline and it is such a great guitar. Pretty noiseless wide range humbuckers it has, bigger output, but still has the teletwang. My only complaint is the size of the frets. I have never been keen on slim vintage frets so I am thinking of changing them into mediou jumbos, or narrow tall frets.
Mine is a Greco-made Japanese Zemaitis. I rarely use it but it is one of my most precious instruments. Rich Robinson used several Zemaitis models, probably the reason why I have one is that I am a massive Black Crowes fan.
I have found this Baby in a second hand musical instrument store and bought it right after I had tried it. It sounded huge, it was comfy and mine is one of the last made in USA ones. I added an LR Braggs active pikcup and I have been a happy owner since. :) (Don't let the bolt-on neck confuse you, it sounds much great even for studio. It will not give you a very smooth acoustic sound, more liek a raw bluesy tone)
I used to have a N ord Electro 2 but found this one in Hamburg for a great deal. This one has everything I need for songwriting, inspiration and for studio use.
I bought this little synth for my guilty pleasure (the love of 70's B-movie soundtracks). I really like it's Arp Solina and Moog type vintae synth sounds and it has a pretty useful string Mellotron patch too. My band Ozone Mama used it in studio with great results on the song Moon Pilot from our latest album Cosmos Calling. (pychedelic 70's prog-stoner vibe)
I have been using this pedal for more than 10 years by now. I t never leaves the board. Best pedal for Vox amps.
Do you want that fuzz drenched spaghetti western sound? Use the Gnarly and throw in some spring reverb to the tone. This pedal was recommended to me by Scott from the Rival Sons when I met him first a long time ago. I have gone through a lot of fuzz pedals and this one is the best sounding and this cuts through the mix better than any big muff tone bender of fuzz face. It is a Germanium-sounding Silicon fuzz, a mix between a vintage Shin-Ei and a MKI Tone Bender.
I sold my Vox V-847 and bought this one (red logo). This has the Vox sound but it does it better as it is more reliable. It does the vintage Clyde or Teese RMC sound. without problem. I find it better than any Cry Baby wah...
What can I say? Everybody knows what this pedal is famous for: lush, warm analog delay, best Bucke Brigade delay emulating the vintage tape delay sound. It adds a 3 Dmension sound to any rig and no digital pedal could ever reproduce this. Callibrating the chips and ICs' are highly recommended from time to time. Only downside: 24V DC.
Best octave generator, very simple to use. Throw a good drive and fuzz next to it and you are in 70's classic rock heaven. I sold my Whammy after buying the POG.
Some might say Strymon pedals sound a bit too hifi but the lint is Strymon's best I must say. Great reverbs, great tremolos in one box. (some might miss the tap option for tremolo but I don't care about it personally)
Great tape delay by Strymon. I think the best is the pedals tape age function which adds that crackin old vinyl sound.
This Boss pedal is better than any boutique tape echo emulator. It is based on the specific model Roland RE-201. The ramp up feature is unique. Guess what this pedal is even great for vocals. Creepy dark trails it has which I love. Sci-fi soundtrack tool. Try it with a Fender Rhodes, a match made in Heaven.
This old EHX pedal has been known for it's aggressive fuzz-distortion sound specially in the stoner rock community. Countless recordings from the 90's were made with this beast. Rumour has it that te box of the pedal was made of the leftovers of Russian military vehicles and warmachines. Well it really sounds like a landslide, explosion, or the fallen angel blowing that trumpet.
This one is the older custom classic model. One of the best amps I have ever had. I actually had two (one for backup). These were pretty cheap second hand but now as the became pretty rare, the prices has started to climb.... Great Vox tone, unmistakable British crunch, pedal-friendly platform.
Great lookin cab, sounds great and the Baltic birtch makes it better than modern 412 cabs which are made of plywood. It came out as a member of the Vox Custom classic series. The smaller versio called 212 BN is great too. Buy on if you stumble upon this cab, you will not regret. Looks good, sounds great.
