Under ground rock scene in the UK

Now that is some badass hair! lmao

I had to search the web for these band shots, I don't even have them.... this was from our notorious 'mud shoot' -- what an awful time.... any band photographers with artistic pretensions and 'awesome photo shoot concepts' should have to be dunked in mud on a cold fall day for 6 hours and see how they like it!

1) That wolf Alice chick is stuck in the middle because she needs more stage presence and better vocals. Her guitar playing is fine for pop, although nothing special if judged solely on that video performance (even for the part she's playing, it could be executed better). She has a nice voice but she's only singing like 3-4 notes the entire song. Step out a bit, get into it more.

2) UK is a beautiful country. I used to think the monarchy stuff was dumb, and then I found myself in London, and loving it so much. I'm not saying I am having dreams of kings and queens or anything, but damn it was an amazing city. Covent Garden is getting more and more touristy by the day. Leicester Square is the original Times Square apparently, yeah. NYC has nothing on London. Sad but true. I found myself wishing I could stay a bit longer.

3) Best beer I've ever had in my entire life (early 30s) was a warm - yes, warm - ale and hot pie. Don't mock it until you've had it. Why we Americans drink cold beer is beyond my comprehension. All beer should be a pint of warm ale.

Some performances she sings better than others but I agree with what you say. I mainly like the lead guitar stuff by them, its nothing special really but it sounds good to me:P

I think the monarchy is pointless, they aren't even from England they're German and during the second world war many of them supported Nazi Germany and Hitler, one of them even met up with Hitler regularly etc. They also cost more than they bring in and don't pay there cleaners anymore than around £13,000 a year typically. But I can see the attraction to people outside the UK.

We do have great beer in Britain, typically expensive though even for stuff like fosters that isn't great. Ever had Iron Maiden 666 the trooper beer or what ever it's called? Had some the other day, really nice, strong too for a beer at 6.6%. Warm beer though? We never tend to drink warm beer over here, people hate warm beer here like they do over there haha

Perhaps warm was the wrong word. Room temperature? Similar to the proper temperature of a red wine? It was definitely not cold, on purpose. This is quite normal everywhere else in the world except USA where we need "ice-cold Miller light from the snow capped mountains of the Coors Rockies" garbage. I think the warmer (more accurate?) temperature allows the flavors of the ale to shine? I am not an expert just an enthusiast. The ale I had was not Fosters, nor was it expensive compared to USA prices. Although, London was much more expensive overall than our other European city stops.

I managed to find a pub (OK, we don't have real pubs, but this place is pretty close to a real British pub) in Atlanta that serves a revolving menu of craft ales at the proper - not ice cold - temperature. They had something called Old Rasputin. Don't remember the maker but it was mighty delicious. Next time I go, I'll snap a photo of the beer list for ya. Cheers!

oh and about the monarchs, for me it's the bigger picture - the castles and the knights and the nationalism and the architecture and city planning. You just sense a heavy weight of history that predates any of the modern 20th century crap like our horrible world wars and Nazis (believe me, I am not a fan). Just a beautiful city that simply can not exist here in the US because it demands a heavy hand of government to create such grand arches and squares and such. We Americans have Washington D.C. and that's about it. We have tall skyscrapers and skylines, which London seemed to lack a bit. Maybe I'm not being clear, it is quite late (early?) here. But it felt different. Old. Like James Bond. There's a cool factor there, which is much bigger than the individuals themselves (kings and queens; James Bond is cool always).

I know I'm only 13, but we do alcohol the best in the world in my opinion, though the Germany, and Belgium are quite good, but then I'm not going on much experience.

Yes the monarchy is a pile of crap, and yes they are overpaid (The queen is on something like 36 million a year for basically waving, making a few decisions, and a televised speech at Christmas), but we'd have less of an economy than the Spanish, without her.

Trust me, Belgium and Germany do much better beer than the UK but you want the best beer in the world? go to the Checz Republic

Belgian beer? usually great, Czech beer? 180 degrees different than Belgium's, also GREAT, but most of their beers are in a really similar style whereas Belgium, France and Holland have more diversity than even Germany

one figure I have seen is that the Royal Family cost a total of £57 billion and bring in a mere £1.5 billion, just get rid of them if you ask me. but obviously no one is going to know the full cost of the Royal Family, some will under estimate and some over estimate but in my opinion in 2015 there is no need at all for a elitist entitled bunch of pricks. Diana was the only one that was kind of down to earth
