Fretlight FG-561
I have owned the Fretlight for a year, which is enough time I think to make a fairly decent review of this guitar. The Guitar has an ash body with a bird's eye maple top it came in two finishes natural or Pacific Blue. The neck is a Stratabond Birch, which is multiple layers of birch glued together then cut down to the shape of a guitar neck with chrome locking tuners. I was a little skeptical about this at first but so far it has held up well. The neck finish is a satin polyurethane and is very smooth my sweaty hands don't stick anywhere along the neck as I am moving up and down it. The fret board is a proprietary advanced polymer with medium high frets which allows the LED's to show through the fret board. When the LED's are not lit it looks like a normal fret board. The bridge is fixed and it has 2 Lindy Fralin P-92 humbuckers for pickups. The neck shape is C modern with 22 frets on a 25.5" scale and has a 12" radius, the nut width is 1.64" at 9.5 pounds it is one of the heavier guitars in my collection. It has controls for volume tone and a blender knob for adjusting between the two pickups. I have really enjoyed playing this guitar the action is smooth and comparable to some top of the line guitars I have played. As a learning tool the guitar has been good the light up fretboard is excellent for learning scales and learning chords as for learning to play songs however I feel it is not very useful as a tool, the lights light up and disappear to quickly for me to follow along when trying to learn a song on it.
