Great guitar with small problems
I never had a jag before so I bought this stunning guitar that was hanging in a guitar shop one day. Loved at first sight.
I love how Jaguars suits the way I play, I like the limitation of the short scale and the vintage 7.25 radius.
The bridge is not that bad, I replaced mine with a fender Johnny Marr one (52mm) cause i find it a bit more reliable thanks to the bushing inside, in fact due to the vibration of the guitar the screws in the bridge tend to unscrew themself lowering the string action, but if that doesn’t mither you and the set up is done right the stock bridge absolutely fine.
Key point: The guitar really needed a shim in the neck I think that’s essential for a good set up. With jags is all about string tension. (I like to put a .6mm in my jags.)
The fret work on this guitar could have been done better, a little more attention to details would be appreciated but the aged thin neck feels great to play. That’s mint
The relic on this guitar is actually pretty good and the sound is spot on! I like the bright jangly American vintage 65 pickups.
Every time I play this jag in a band my guitar sits just above others , it has a lot of presence and it cut right through the mix. (Even more than a strat or a Les Paul in my opinion)
If you’re going to buy this guitar I’d suggest to replace the annoying switching system with a telecaster 4 way switch. Definitely worth it!
In a nutshell, a great guitar.
