donald_hubert_duffy_iii's Music Gear Setup

This classical guitar's origins are difficult to trace, though it was almost certainly Made in Spain. The label is that of a shop in Málaga, the history of which is detailed at Guitarristas.info by the user dominikusgohr. He asserts that this shop was never a lutherie nor manufacturer, and that the guitars must have been ordered from a factory, "likely in Valencia". Google's cache of a listing for a used guitar on shopping.com shows a title with Valencian guitar-makers Vicente Tatay Tomás placed in parentheses next to the Antonio Gómez Téllez name, suggesting that Tatay had been the ones commissioned to produce these units for the shop. Without any ability to access more than a preview of the cached page, I cannot follow up on this lead.
As for the dating, the label lists the shop's six-digit contact number from before prefixes were added to Spain's telephone system in the late 1990s. Given the condition of the wood and the materials used, it is most probably early 1990s. A very similar shop currently exists in a different location in Málaga, called Fernández Cruz Miguel Mercería, and it has the same digits in its phone number following a novel prefix. Unfortunately, they started to ignore my communications after learning that I no longer live in Málaga. Perhaps someone over there can get to the bottom of this.
